If you hear of a job opportunity through an unsolicited or spam e-mail, be very suspicious. Often these so-called jobs are in another country (Canada, Europe, Africa) and involve work at hotels or on cruise ships. The scam involves collecting an advance fee, such as a fee for obtaining a visa, and once the fee is paid, there is no job for you. If you do respond and they ask that you to pay some fee upfront, you should not (no matter how convincing the reason as scam artists are masters at forging documents, impersonating officials and lawyers, and working in rings so that you get reassured by multiple people, etc.) The emails set forth below are spam email job opportunities that appear dubious and should be avoided.
