Loan Scams

If you receive an unsolicited e-mail offering you a loan from an unidentified lender or a lender you have never heard of, you may be the target of a loan scam or hoax.   Often, these emails claim to offer sizable loans, with a very quick application process and are not concerned with your credit.   You should think twice before clicking on any link contained in these unsolicited emails, as you may be exposing your computer to harmful viruses.  If you should visit the linked page, do not submit any personal information that could be used for identity theft purposes.  Finally, do not pay any fees as a requirement to obtain a loan, even if you receive a check first (see check clearing scam).  We have set forth some sample emails on this page an on the links below.  We strongly advise that if you receive a similar email to ignore and delete it.  You may want to visit other pages and sites to learn more:
