Banco Santander

Banco Santander was referenced in unsolicited emails that appear to be fraudulent or bogus.  Banco Santander is almost certainly not involved nor likely to approve the use of its name in the e-mails.  Scammers often use the names of legitimate banks, companies, governmental agencies and other organizations to make their claims seem legitimate. If you get an e-mail that is similar to one in our collection, you should delete it.  Do not contact the person and especially do not give out personal information such as bank account information or your social security number.  NEVER pay any fees of any kind.   If you are victimized by the fraud, there is not much that you can do. To: martenri@freenet.de From: martenri@freenet.de  Subject: From, Mr Enrique Martinez. Date: Mon, 26 Mar 2007 16:17:46 +0200 From, Mr Enrique Martinez. Manager Banco Santander, Boadilla del Monte 28660 Madrid, Spain.

I am Mr Enrique Martinez, Bank Manager of Banco Satander, Monte branch, Madrid Spain. I have an urgent and very confidential business proposition for you.

On 4th Feb, 2003, a British oil consultant/contractor Mr Gilbert Harding, made a numbered time (fixed) deposit for thirty six calendar months, valued at €17,000,000.00 (Seveteen million Euro) in my branch. Upon maturity, I sent a routine notification to his forwarding address but got no reply. We sent a reminder and finally we discovered from his contract employers, the Chinese Solid Minerals Corporation that Mr.Gilbert Harding died on the Madrid train bombings three year back.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/11_March_2004_Madrid_attacks. On further investigation, I found out that he died without making a will, and all attempts to trace his next of kin were fruitless.

I therefore made further investigations and discovered that Mr.Gilbert Harding did not declare any kin or relations in all his official documents, including his bank deposit paperwork in my bank. This sum of €17,000,000.00 is still sitting in my bank and the interest is being rolled over with the principal sum at the end of each year. No one will ever come forward to claim it. According to the Spanish Monetary law, at the expiration of 5 (five) years, the money will revert to the ownership of the Spanish government if nobody applies to claim the fund.

Now my proposal is that I would like you as a foreigner to stand in as the next of kin to Mr Gilbert Harding so that the fruits of this old man’s labour will not get into the hands of some corrupt government officials. This is simple, I would like you to provide immediately your full name and address so that the attorney will prepare the necessary documents and affidavits that will put you in place as the next of kin. We shall employ the services of an attorney for drafting and notarisation of the will and to obtain the necessary documents and letter of probate/administration in your favour for the transfer. A bank account in any part of the world that you will provide will then facilitate the transfer of this money to you as the beneficiary/next of kin. The money will be paid into your account for us to share in the ratio of 85% for me and 15% for you.

There is no risk at all as all the paperwork for this transaction will be done by the attorney and my position as the Branch Manager guarantees the successful execution of this transaction. If you are interested, please reply immediately via this email address: ina2006@keromail.com. Upon your response, I shall then provide you with more details and relevant documents that will help you understand the transaction. Please send me your confidential telephone and fax numbers for easy communication. Please observe utmost confidentiality, and rest assured that this transaction would be most profitable for both of us because I shall require your assistance to invest my share in your country.Awaiting your urgent reply.

Enrique Martinez.
