Lottery Scam E-mails

Lottery scam e-mails are unsolicited e-mails that say that you've won millions of dollars for a lottery you never entered. The scam artist may use the name of a legitimate lottery as part of the scam. Generally, these e-mails originate somewhere outside the US, where the criminals can safely scam you, with virtually no chance of getting arrested or prosecuted. At some point, they will ask you to pay some fee or fees to claim your prize. A legitimate lottery does not ask this. Once you are onto their scam, they will disappear and your chance of any type of recovery is essentially none. During the past year, I received many unsolicited e-mails that appear to be Lottery Scam E-mails. I have included several recent examples throughout this website and below:

From: "EURO MILLION LOTTERY INTERNATIONAL" <eupromotion@casinomail.com> Add to Address Book Add Mobile Alert To: Subject: CONGRATULATIONS YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS HAVE WON THE LOTTERY!!! EURO MILLION LOTTERY INTERNATIONAL CALLE GRAN VIA 4D PISO 9A 28008 MADRID ESPANA FROM: THE DESK OF THE LOTTERY DIRECTOR. INTERNATIONAL PROMOTIONS/PRIZE AWARD.. BATCH: EMLS-433-908-622 REFERENCE: 71/95/ZPMD ATTENTION:WINNING NOTIFICATION.

This is to inform you of the release of the EURO MILLION LOTTERY INTERNATIONAL held on the 1st of SEPTIEMBRE 2006.The results were released on the 4th of SEPTIEMBRE,2006.Your email address was attached to ticket number 255-719-492-678 with serial number 762-851-311-900 that drew the lucky numbers of 47-90-11-56-92, which consequently won the lottery in the 2nd category. You have therefore been approved for a lump sum of payent of ^1,000,000.00(ONE MILLION EURO,ONLY) This is from 80,000.000.00 (EIGHTY MILLION EURO) in cash among the 20 participating finalist playing 9,000 full tickets.
