Lottery Scam E-mails

Lottery scam e-mails are unsolicited e-mails that say that you've won millions of dollars for a lottery you never entered.  The scam artist may use the name of a legitimate lottery as part of the scam.  Generally, these e-mails originate somewhere outside the US, where the criminals can safely scam you, with virtually no chance of getting arrested or prosecuted.  At some point, they will ask you to pay some fee or fees to claim your prize.  A legitimate lottery does not ask this.  Once you are onto their scam, they will disappear and your chance of any type of recovery is essentially none.  During the past year, I received many unsolicited e-mails that appear to be Lottery Scam E-mails.  I have included several recent examples throughout this website and below:

NOTICE We are pleased to inform you of the result of the Reality lottery programs held on May 19th ,2006 your e-mail address were attached to one of the ten winning ticket numbers 85210 with game Number 8286529.You have therefore been approved for a lumpsum pay out of 500,000.00 (Five hundred thousand Euros)

CONGRATULATIONS!! All participants were selected through a computerballot system from our sponsors databases, including over 50,000 companies and 150,000 individual E-mail addresses and names submitted by our agents drawn fromAsia, Africa, Europe, North And South America, Oceania and around the world.
