Lottery Scam E-mails

Lottery scam e-mails are unsolicited e-mails that say that you've won millions of dollars for a lottery you never entered. The scam artist may use the name of a legitimate lottery as part of the scam. Generally, these e-mails originate somewhere outside the US, where the criminals can safely scam you, with virtually no chance of getting arrested or prosecuted. At some point, they will ask you to pay some fee or fees to claim your prize. A legitimate lottery does not ask this. Once you are onto their scam, they will disappear and your chance of any type of recovery is essentially none. During the past year, we received many unsolicited e-mails that appear to be Lottery Scam E-mails. We have included several recent examples throughout this website and below:

To: Subject: Mrs.Roberta Miller From: "Roberta Miller" <rmillerr108@excite.com> Date: Wed, 13 Dec 2006 14:18:42 -0500 (EST) From: The Desk Of the Promotions Manager, VODAFONE ONLINE PROMO INTERNATIONAL: Customer Service and Logistic Department Reference No: FL/668530092 Batch No: 452006

We gladly wish to inform you of the draws of the VODAFONE ONLINE PROMO INTERNATIONAL held on the 5TH of DECEMBER 2006 in London. You along with 57 others were selected winners under draws 6+J promo program

However, your e-mail address assigned to E-Tag number 193.45.24.02 in the Random Computer Selection System (RCSS) of email addresses, flagged out the lucky numbers 21-7-14-04-19-34 and consequently won you the lottery in the 1st category.
