Phishing Scam

The email entitled "Texas Dow Employees Credit Union Security Issues" claiming to be from Texas Dow Employees Credit Union Support Center appears to be a phishing scam.  Phishing scams use official looking webpages  to trick you into believing they are from a corporate website that you have an account with.  Typically, it is either stated or implied  that your account will be suspended or deactivated unless you click the link to the webpage that is linked from the e-mail.  Often, the scammers say that someone is trying to use your account or this is done for "security" purposes.  Once you are at the site, they will ask you to provide or verify personal information such as bank account information, credit card information, social security information and password information.  If you get such an e-mail, you should delete it and do not provide any of the requested information.  However, if you are not convinced that you have a fraudulent e-mail, please contact the company directly and explain the e-mail you received.  If you give out any personal information, contact your bank immediately and depending on what information you gave out, it may be wise to take measures to protect against identity theft (e.g. contact credit agencies, close accounts, cleanse computer).  Many e-mail solicitations that appear to be phishing e-mails are set forth throughout this website and below:

Dear Texas Dow Employees CU Customer,

we couldn't update your information because they were missing or 
they were incorrect.  For the User Agreement, Section 9,  we may
immediately issue a warning,  temporarily suspend,  indefinitely 
suspend or terminate your membership and  refuse to  provide  our 
services to you if we believe that your actions may cause financial
loss or legal liability for you, our users or us.

To restore your card account access, please take the following 
step, to ensure that your account has not been compromised:

- Login to your Online Service, complete youur Texas Dow Employees
Credit Union Access form with your correct information  and check
your account profile to make sure no changes have been made.
